Flash Sponsorship and gsport announce new partnership to boost commercialisation of women’s sport in South Africa
The business of women’s sport in South Africa has received a timely boost with the announcement of a partnership between sport sponsorship specialists, Flash Sponsorship, and South Africa’s leading women’s sport initiative, gsport4girls.
The partnership sees Flash Sponsorship become the exclusive commercial agents for gsport to power the initiative which has built value in women’s sport over the past 15 years.
gsport Founder, Kass Naidoo, said: “The vision of gsport is to raise the profile of women’s sport and encourage better corporate support for our athletes. We are honoured that a mainstream sports agency has seen the value in backing women’s sport.
“We recently consolidated our learnings over the past 15 years as gsport, and one of the key areas to address is the need for strong business acumen to help leaders commercialise sport. I look forward to both Flash Sponsorship and gsport combining our resources and expertise to boost the business of women’s sport.”
Flash Sponsorship business director, Gill Fraser recently participated in the gsport Henley stakeholder sessions to help identify the barriers to entry in the commercialisation of women’s sport. Now in partnership with gsport, Flash Sponsorship will unpack the learnings identified and commercialise the opportunities for corporates, to further grow the sector.
“There is so much potential, but also so much work needed which is a journey we are thrilled to embark upon. Partnering with gsport is a major step in the right direction for us and women’s sport in South Africa”, says Ant Garstang, MD of Flash Sponsorship.
