COSAFA hosts up to nine tournaments annually: The Senior Men’s COSAFA Cup (previously described by FIFA as the best regional football competition in the world), the Senior Women’s COSAFA Championship, the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier Tournament, COSAFA Beach Soccer, u20 Men and Women, u17 Boys and Girls and the CAF African Schools Football Championship. With the emphasis on nurturing talent from a grassroots level, various legacy programmes including coaching, refereeing, administration, media and education workshops and youth festivals are included in each tournament. Broadcast live on both SuperSport and SABC, the 2023/4 season delivered over R1,2 billion worth of media exposure.
