“Cricket is a national treasure, one of South Africa’s largest, and most popular sports, and the key fundamentals underpinning the growth of the sport at Cricket South Africa have been in place for some time now, offering talented cricketers a pathway from grassroots to greatness. It was only a matter of time for the sport to regain its demand amongst corporate South Africa.” says van der Schyff.

“I have said it for some time now that one or two critical elements, on and off the pitch respectively, needed to fall into place for Cricket to shine and that is exactly what has happened. On the field, both the Proteas Men and Women have competed in World Cup Finals, with the Men having won the World Test Championship, and that resonates with the broadly representative cricket loving & passionate audience. In the boardroom, sound corporate governance and stability at a Board level has resonated with Corporate South Africa. Cricket as a sponsorship platform has been recognised for its powerful potential to connect brands with their target audiences in order to deliver on their objectives. And the sport is now rightfully reaping the rewards.”

“The next saying that I love, and one that also draws on a cricketing analogy, is that one will bring two, and three. And in this case four & five! First we secured Macron as the Official Apparel sponsor, Shrey as the Official Helmet & Coffin supplier, FlySafair as the Official Domestic Airline, Ola as the Official Ice Cream, and Suzuki as the Official Motor Vehicle of Cricket South Africa and the Proteas Men’s and Women’s ODI teams. Howzat!” concludes van der Schyff.

Mtunzi Jonas, Chief Commercial Officer for Cricket South Africa added, “The contribution of Flash has been integral to the success of our commercial programme. Their professionalism, market expertise, and strategic approach have enabled us to strengthen the long-term sustainability of our commercial portfolio. We value their role as a trusted partner in advancing our organisation’s commercial objectives.”
