Flash is a specialist sponsorship marketing consultancy that focuses on commercial rights.

We represent a handful of established well-respected rightsholders, and our purpose is to seek out and match them with like-minded partners that are looking to connect and engage with their fans and athletes. Our strategic direction and creative solutions provide a fresh way of delivering on partner expectations for rightsholders via simplified commercial structures that are measurable.

Rightsholder contract development and management play a crucial role in ensuring both our rightsholders and brand partners receive exactly what they need to deliver on their strategic goals and brand targets.

Richard vd Schyff

Richard is a natural, charismatic leader with 25+ years of experience in the South African Sponsorship industry.
He is well connected in Corporate South Africa holding relationships at a C-Suite level at many Blue-Chip Corporates, Rightsholders & Media owners and his contacts extend across Africa and into Europe.
Working in various Sponsorship Agencies he managed some of South Africa's largest Sponsorship accounts in MTN, Vodacom, Standard Bank, Absa, Toyota, SASOL, Yellow Pages, Nestle, Eskom, Emirates, BP & Castrol during FWC2010.
Moving into Commercial Sponsorship Sales, Richard brokered Huawei’s entry into the South African Sponsorship market before purchasing Flash Sponsorship in 2022 where under his leadership has steered the Business on a successful growth trajectory representing a select group of Rightsholders.

Richard specialises in building relationships based on delivery & trust, is strategic in his outlook to Sponsorship sales, can read the market and forecast trends and possesses tenacity and perseverance to convert leads into Sponsors
Born & bred in KZN, Richard was educated at Kearsney College, has a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSci) from UCT, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PDM) from Wits Business School and has completed the Sponsorship Sales Certificate (SSC) from the European Sponsorship Association.
Richard is a natural sportsman having the ability to play competitively at most sports (“anything with a ball in my hand” he says). He excelled at Water polo, captaining & coaching Central Gauteng to win the Currie Cup on separate occasions and remains active to this day playing for his Club team Saints. In his day, Richard captained the South African National Water Polo team.

Gill Fraser

Gill has 15+ years of experience in the Sponsorship Industry, having been with Flash Sponsorship for over 10 years her role has evolved significantly during this time across the different aspects of the Flash business:
- Project Management the Nedbank Green Mile during the 2015 Comrades Marathon
- Planning & Management the Client Experience programme for Sponsors at the Tour de France (2016 – 2017)
- Rights & Programme Management for Dimension Data’s Tour de France Technology Sponsorship (2017 – 2019)
- Sales Director for Flash Sponsorship handling Sales across the Flash client base and has enjoyed much success in securing new deals for our clients (2024 to current day)

Gill excels in developing Commercial Structures and Sales Collateral for Flash clients, Sponsorship Sales & Consulting, Marketing holding strong relationships with Rightsholders, Brands and Sponsorship Agencies and has experience across the all aspects of the Sponsorship Industry.
Part of Gill’s portfolio is Sponsorship Education where she assists in addressing the lack of formal Sponsorship education in SA through the Marketing of the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) Diploma and Red & Yellow Sports Sponsorship Marketing (SSM) Certificate.
In 2020, Gill finished top of the South African class of the ESA Diploma followed by a Distinction in the ESA Sponsorship Sales Certificate (SSC) in 2023.
